An unexpected effect of the iPhone

I hate to wait. How much of my life have I spent waiting at doctors or bus stops or restaurants or wherever. It drives me nuts. To say I’m impatient is a major understatement.

Apparently what I’ve been missing my whole life is an iPhone. Now while I wait at the Sonic drive in, I fiddle with Twitter or Twinkle. Sitting around in a waiting room at the doctor, I update my Facebook account, writing obscene things on my friends’ walls. Car needs an oil change. Who’s going to do it? Me me me! I wanna go wait an hour and a half for Jiffy Lube’s 30 minute service. I’m going to catch up on my rss feeds.

Overall, this little device has granted me some amount of freedom from my computer. With client emails to answer, tutorials to read to keep up with the Joneses, a Twitter following of a whopping 18 folks and a terrible sense of direction and general understanding of where things are, I love having something that offers me solutions to all these problems and more. I place a high value of efficiency, and my iPhone helps me be more productive. Now I can be out of the office and stay in touch. And it helps kill the monotony of wait times, so I stay more relaxed and stress-free.

So I guess my iPhone has made me a better person. Well, maybe just a more patient person …
