I promised my husband if he bought me a laptop i’d never want anything else again. I lied. http://jen.gs/j/p
RT @zeldman: Lack of Flash in iPhone/iPad is win for accessible, standards-based design. Semantic HTML first. Flash UX layer = optional.
pretty new social media icon set! http://jen.gs/j/o
don’t know why everyone’s bitching about the ipad not supporting flash. I for one enjoy not updating flash every two weeks on my iPhone.
watching the south team practice on NFL Network. Liking corey chavous as an analyst.
nice round up of beautiful sites: http://jen.gs/j/m

this human target show is some real crap. disappointed because i was kinda looking forward to it.
I go thru occassional spurts when I’m interested in facebook. this is not one of those times.
my head hurts so bad I just drooled. desk/chair setup obviously a little south of ergonomic.
but he’s also sweet as pie, goes and does his own thing sometimes, doesn’t beg & already better behaved than the big dogs. #nowthatslove
my new pup constantly twitches, smells, his teeth are all rotted, he’s not that great with other dogs and his hair is falling out. #ah_love

I am SO glad the Cowboys have Tony Romo at QB, cuz as long as they do, I’ll never have to watch those whiny douchebags in the Super Bowl.

i wish there was a way i could make simple shapes with css, like little arrows.

watching Aliens. first r-rated movie I ever saw, and the elevator platform scene still freaks me out to this day.
liking @pulseapp quite a bit. they need to beef up their reporting functionality, but their support response is fast and helpful!

Signing up for Google Groups with Google App Dmail...
It doesn’t make any sense to me that I can’t sign up for Google Groups with my Google Apps ID. After a little searching, I found this:
http://groups.google.com/group/GroupName/boxsubscribe?email=myid
Replace “Group Name” with the name of the group (look in the url) and “myid” with your google apps email address. You’ll receive a confirmation email; after...

Keep calm and carry on (with HTML5) →
I’m all about trying the latest and greatest CSS3 techniques and whatever, but HTML5 relies pretty heavily on Javascript to set up the tags, and that’s just not something I’m comfortable with. Good article, anyway, from Stuff and Nonsense.
already feels like it’s going to be a crazy day, and I just stepped out of bed.
just finished up the craziest Monday ever. my head is still spinning.
This is about the worst-written article I’ve ever read. And in Fast Company! I’m surprised. http://jen.gs/j/l

Chris Wallace’s blog suggests the best solution I’ve found to fix this ghastly issue. Not ideal, but a step in the right direction.

jQuery script not working in Chrome
Any thoughts on why a jQuery script wouldn’t be working in Chrome?
I have a form on my contact page: http://jen.gs/contact. When a user selects “Request an Estimate”, another fieldset with options to give me info about the project should appear. Works in other browsers, but not Chrome.
Any thoughts?

New Decade, New (Online) Me
When I created my previous site design three years ago, my motivations for that design were less than artistic: I was dying to do something that was pretty and girlie. At the time, I worked in an office that was all suits and briefcases, corporate blues and blah fonts. It was bit stifling. But even then I knew “because I hate where I work” is not a good motivation for design. It never really felt...
